Search by Description
Find photos by what they show — no tags or manual sorting required.
What it is
Search by Description finds photos by what's actually in them: "sunset", "smiling kids", "golden hour", "red dress". PhotoWorker analyzes the content of each photo in your folder and ranks matches against your query.
All analysis runs on your Mac — photos are never sent anywhere.
First run
On first use, PhotoWorker will download the files needed for description search — you'll see progress in the window. After that, each folder you open is prepared in the background (progress bar at the top of the window). Search starts working as soon as the first results are ready and gets more accurate as preparation completes.
How to search
The "Search by description..." field lives in the toolbar. Type a query, press Enter — photos are reordered in the gallery by how well they match.
Queries can be in English or other languages — English usually gives more accurate results.
Loose / Strict slider
A strictness slider appears below the search field: Loose ↔ Strict. Slide toward Strict — only the closest matches remain; toward Loose — more results, including loosely related ones.
All folders
The "All folders" button next to the search field expands the search to every folder you've previously opened. Click it again to return the search to the current folder.
